This agency-built WordPress website was originally launched in 2016. In the years since, I’ve worked continuously to improve it by introducing new functionality and enhancing the UI/UX.

Notable projects

• Replaced the original drop-down tab primary nav menu with a mega menu offering flexible content areas for promoting services. Accomplished by building an extension to WordPress’s nav menu walker and creating backend admin tools for managing the new content areas.
• Several enhancements to the site’s service line template, including:
  • Redesign of the upper portion of the template to include graphic and video options, plus a call-to-action section with flexible buttons.
  • Custom functionality to allow child pages to recursively inherit fields from parent pages.
  • A responsive carousel of related stories at the bottom of the template, with a simple tag-based system for pulling both stories from the WordPress database and provider profile videos from a separate database.
• Built a custom Epic/MyChart open scheduling integration plugin to allow users to schedule appointments on the site without creating an electronic health record account.
• Built a custom Eventrbite API integration plugin to allow staff to perform all event management on Eventbrite, and designed the frontend for the calendar page as well as individual event pages, including map/directions and ticketing.
• Built a custom Solr Index Server integration plugin to allow WordPress’s sitewide search to include results not just from WordPress content, but also from other data sources, including the provider profile database and the Eventbrite data above.
• Rebuilt the WordPress theme from a clean slate, upgrading Bootstrap and refactoring JS and PHP for simplicity and efficiency. This rebuild included completely new designs for the homepage, sitewide header and footer, and service index.
